Their arrest reports say someone called them, saying they saw Higgins with a gun and a boy dead wrapped in a blanket. When officers arrived, they found Higgins on the porch and what they believed to be blood on the front steps.The report states that the officers believed exigency existed, prompting them to open the trunk of a vehicle that Higgins said was hers — which is where they found the dead child with a gunshot wound.According to officers, Higgins gave a post-Mirandized statement to detectives admitting she attempted to cut the victim’s tongue out of his mouth and shooting him, then placing him in the trunk of her car.
